Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Jefferson Augusto da Silva (“we”, “us”) for the use of the My House on the Rock iPhone app (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What the app is
My House on the Rock is a Christian habit app. You log real habits such as prayer, Bible reading, gratitude, serving others and standing firm against temptation, and a house grows as you do. The app includes a 66-day reading plan using the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain.
Not a substitute for care. The app is a tool for personal spiritual habits. It is not medical, psychological or addiction treatment, counseling or pastoral care, and it does not diagnose or cure any condition. If you are struggling, please talk to a pastor, a trusted person or a licensed professional.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, United States) or your local emergency number right away.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the app.
3. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, billing periods and any free trial are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends if you do not cancel before then.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you purchase a subscription.
- All payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change a subscription price, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
4. Your data
What you record in the app stays encrypted on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. Because we do not store your entries, we cannot recover them if you delete the app, reset your phone or switch devices.
5. Phone Guard
Phone Guard relies on Apple’s Screen Time frameworks and your permission. Apple controls how shields and unlocks behave, and system settings such as Focus modes or notification summaries can delay or change them. Phone Guard is a support for your own choices, not a guarantee that any content or app will be blocked, and you can turn it off at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its design, illustrations, reflections, text and software belong to Jefferson Augusto da Silva or its licensors and are protected by law. Scripture quotations are from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s Usage Rules.
8. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise any particular spiritual, emotional or behavioral result.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
10. Apple
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these terms. Sections 7 to 12 survive termination.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where the consumer protection laws of your place of residence give you additional rights.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them.
