Privacy Policy
What you record in My House on the Rock stays on your iPhone. This page explains what that covers, the few things Apple handles for us and what we never do with your information.
The short version
- Your quiz answers, habits, journal lines, storm notes and reflections are stored only on your device, encrypted.
- We do not have accounts, servers holding your entries, or ads. We do not sell or share your personal information.
- Phone Guard uses Apple’s Screen Time system. We never see which apps you choose.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple. The app does not send usage statistics or any other data to us or to third parties.
Who we are
My House on the Rock (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by Jefferson Augusto da Silva, an independent developer based in Brazil. You can reach us at contact.myhouseontherock@gmail.com.
Information stored only on your device
The following information is created by you inside the app and saved on your iPhone in encrypted storage. The encryption key is kept in your device’s Keychain. This information is not sent to us or to any service provider:
- Your first name, the name of your house, your chosen cornerstone verse and the reason you wrote for building.
- Your Foundation Check answers, including what competes for your attention (for example, lust, anger or scrolling), your prayer and Bible reading habits, screen time and your hardest time of day.
- The habits you log each day, your stones, phases, streaks and storm shields.
- Evening walkthrough answers, journal lines, falls you record, their optional triggers and notes, and your repair reflections.
- Your progress in the 66-day reading plan, your reminder times and your Phone Guard settings.
Because this information never leaves your device, we cannot see it, recover it, or move it to a new phone for you. If you delete the app or use “Delete all data” in Settings, it is permanently erased.
Phone Guard and Apple Screen Time
Phone Guard uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) with your permission. When you choose apps to guard, Apple gives the app opaque tokens instead of app names. We store those tokens on your device only to apply the shield, and we keep a count of how many apps and categories you selected. We cannot see which apps you chose, how long you use them, or your browsing activity, and none of this is sent anywhere.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Their text never mentions temptation or anything you recorded privately, because notifications can appear on your lock screen. You can change or turn off reminders in Settings or in iOS Settings.
Information processed by service providers

The app checks your subscription with Apple directly on your device. We do not run analytics, we do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use data brokers. If we ever add anonymous usage statistics, we will update this policy first and give you a way to turn them off.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under California law.
- We do not show ads or send reports to churches, partners, employers or anyone else.
- We do not use artificial intelligence to read or analyze what you write.
Children
The app is intended for adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help remove any related data held by our service providers.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: use Settings → Delete all data, or delete the app.
- Notifications and Screen Time: change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Requests: depending on where you live (for example, California or other US states), you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete personal information. Because your entries stay on your device, most of these requests can be handled directly in the app. For anything held by our service providers, email contact.myhouseontherock@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- Brazil (LGPD): where Brazil’s General Data Protection Law applies, you may also request confirmation that data is processed, access, correction, anonymization, portability or deletion, and information about any sharing, by emailing contact.myhouseontherock@gmail.com.
Security
Your entries are stored with AES-256 encryption and protected by your device’s passcode and Keychain. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we also recommend keeping a passcode on your iPhone.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app before they take effect.
